TLC's Sister Wives follows the polygamist Brown family - but recently OG wife, Meri,
ended her marriage to Kody Brown, put herself first, and is now living life on her own terms.
So how did she do it?
Here's how this Sister Wife broke free from the pack.
Meri was Kody's first wife, but she legally divorced him so that he could marry his fourth
    wife, Robyn.
People reported that this was the only way for Kody to adopt Robyn's three children from
    a previous marriage.
    Meri admitted on the show,
"If ever I'm having an emotional moment, I just think, it's not about me, it's about
    the kids."
However, the official statement the Browns gave Entertainment Tonight made no mention
    of the kids.
    They said:
"We have chosen to legally restructure our family.
We made this decision together as a family.
We are grateful to our family, friends and fans for all their love and support."
But while she was hurt after ending her 24-year marriage, Meri told TLC,
    "It's an end of something.
But at the same time, I know it's not, because I have eternity with them.
I have eternity with the family."
Meri and Kody's divorce put a huge strain on their relationship.
The couple tried to remain close, but on the show, Meri admitted that she didn't even recognize
    Kody anymore.
"Kody, I just feel like I've spent a lot of years not knowing where we were."
    She continued,
"You know both of us have just been avoiding any sort of anything with our relationship."
She confessed that her home is so quiet that she puts music on every morning just to drown
    out the silence, and added,
"I feel like I'm just doing my life by myself.
That's not what I signed up for."
In 2016, in the midst of seeking a connection outside her marriage, Meri became the victim
    of a catfishing scandal.
According to People magazine, Meri had been talking to a woman impersonating a man.
    She told the mag,
"I didn't know how to get out of the situation without putting myself, family, and friends
    at greater risk.
It was a very difficult time.
I had a lot of anxiety."
But Meri was clear on how she was originally lured in, saying,
"He was very, very flirty with me.
And I have guy friends and I am a little bit flirty too."
After news broke of Meri's online affair, wife Robyn revealed she had noticed Meri hadn't
    exactly been "herself," saying,
"Meri hasn't been herself for a long time."
    Janelle admitted the same, adding:
"We are anxious to help her in any way we can.
And I think we're just all trying to figure out how that is best done."
And husband Kody was shaking his head, confirming Meri's situation, saying,
"She hasn't felt well for a long time.
She hasn't seemed like herself for a long time."
In 2016, Meri began working with LuLaRoe - and she appears to be loving every minute of it.
    She posted on Instagram:
"I am blessed and so happy to be on this LuLaRoe journey with […] so many other fabulous
women who only want to bless and build others up."
Fast forward to 2018, and Meri can't stop gushing about her job as a LuLaRoe ambassador.
From hosting product giveaways to hitting the road with fellow Lula ladies, this is
one sister wife with some serious hustle.
Yet, with an onslaught of lawsuits in 2018, according to Vox, the future of LuLaRoe appears
to be rocky, to say the least.
Fortunately, Meri's got another business venture on the books.
"I want to open a bed and breakfast."
In December 2017, the sister-wife saw a dream realized when she turned a historic family
home into a bed and breakfast, naming it Lizzie's Heritage Inn.
"So my great-great grandparents, Sarah and Charles Adams built the home in 1870."
She posted, "It has been a long time dream of mine to get the home back into the family,
and after a lot of work, and when I say a lot, I mean a LOT, it is back in my family
    where it belongs!"
Although polygamy remains illegal in the state of Utah, locals welcome the new business.
    And even Kody tweeted,
"I was forced to admit that Lizzie's home was very magical.
    It was captivating."
Looks like the future is bright for this Sister Wife.
"I hope to see you this direction on your travels."
